Imagine an evening where hundreds of friends and family come together, dressed all in white, to eat, dance and celebrate the unusual and unexpected. Picnic en Blanc de Peninsula is a nontraditional summer picnic event in a nontraditional location. It’s a simple and beautiful social occasion that celebrates the joys of community!
The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation and Redwood City Events are excited to host the First Annual Picnic en Blanc de Peninsula. This magical event will include live entertainment by the funk horn band Sinister Dexter and a performance by Spags the Electric Violinist and accompanying DJ.
Invite your friends, co-workers or family and come together as a group for a wonderful end-of-summer social event.
What to bring:
A picnic dinner (maybe some extra to share with your friends)
White cloth napkins
China and flatware (Think elegant picnic. No paper plates or plastic cutlery, please.)
Table décor (optional) (Don’t bring lighted candles, please.)
Don’t bring outside beverages. A cash bar with beer, wine, water and soda is available.
Whole Foods Market Picnic Pack Option:
Alternatively to bringing your own picnic dinner, you may purchase a Whole Foods Market picnic pack for two with your ticket. Picnic packs must be purchased in advance and will be available for pick-up at the event.
What we provide for guests:
A secret venue with tables, chairs and tablecloth
One drink coupon per guest
One clear stemless glass per guest
Cash bar with beer, wine, water and soda available
Live musical entertainment
Dress Code:
Dressy casual all white attire. (Optional: A splash of color in the form of a hat, scarf, jewelry, etc., but be careful with bold colors which will throw off the theme.)
According to Emily Post, for men this means a seasonal sport coat or blazer, and slacks, a dress shirt, casual button-down shirt, open-collar or polo shirt (tie optional). For women, this means a dress,
skirt and dressy top, dressy pants outfit or nice jeans and dressy top. (Ladies, please note that some of the tables are picnic tables with bench seating so you may need to step over the bench to take a seat at the table.)
Ticket Price:
Tickets are $50 per person. Ticket sales are limited.
For federal income tax purposes, you can deduct as a charitable contribution the price of this ticket less its fair market value. We estimate the fair market value of this ticket to be $30, so your charitable contribution is $20.
Why:
Picnic en Blanc de Peninsula is a grand celebration, to close out the summer, and also a benefit for Redwood City after-school programs. Proceeds will allow the expansion of after-school programs in Redwood City accommodating more at-risk children.
