San Francisco Chronicle Best Day Ever – Redwood City Restaurants
Redwood City isn’t often cited as one of the Bay Area’s great dining destinations, but it should be.
Locals know that the Peninsula city offers incredible range and diversity: Some of the Bay Area’s best taquerias and taco trucks coexist with two-Michelin-starred restaurants, a flourishing craft beer scene and excellent neighborhood staples.
It’s no surprise that Redwood City has become an expansion destination for buzzy names in recent years. Ramen favorite Marufuku, Pakistani hit Zareen’s, San Francisco ice cream shop Humphry Slocombe and Korean fried-chicken chain Von’s Chicken have all opened outposts here in recent years. And the growth is continuing: Mazra, a standout Middle Eastern restaurant in San Bruno, is expanding to Redwood City this year as is Bay Area empanada king El Sur.
